Sophie Robichaud believes that life, like nature, has many branches. Sophie was looking to step out onto a new bough in her professional career when she met Recruit Action’s Kristyn Oleskewycz. “I was sending out resumes for a new job. I did a phone screening with Kristyn for a different position. During our conversation, Kristyn told me she had another job opportunity better matched to my qualifications,” says Sophie.
Previously, Sophie worked as a Team Leader for Sunwing Vacations, an airline specializing in holiday packages for the South and Caribbean. Sophie was a Team Leader at the Sunwing call centers, managing a group of around 15 agents. “I studied horticulture, another world from my career now, but I gained practical experience by starting at the bottom and working my way up,” says Sophie.
Like a plant growing in the sun, Sophie grew sure and steady in her career. When Kristyn mentioned the new role, she saw the chance to grow further. “Kristyn sent my resume to Global Excel, a travel insurance company. We went through the interview process, they sent me the contract, and now I am here! I started a week ago, and I am more than happy with the result,” explains Sophie. She now works as a Team Leader in Global Excel’s call center, assisting agents with their KPIs and providing comprehensive support.
Sophie is grateful to Kristyn for introducing her to the position and supporting her throughout the process. “Kristyn was proactive by matching my resume with a job I had not seen, one with career progression, and in the travel industry where I had worked before. I have been able to bring my previous knowledge and build upon it at Global Excel,” says Sophie. She really took the extra step, and I felt like someone was holding my hand throughout,” says Sophie.
Alongside the ability to progress in her industry, Sophie is happy with the work-life balance of her new role. “I live close to the office now, which is a big bonus. I am lucky to have the opportunity to work from home, but the easy commute motivates me to come into the office and enjoy my day,” says Sophie. With her schedule, Sophie also enjoys pursuing landscaping and garden design in her free time. “I love doing more than one thing. I love my job, and I like working with plants. It’s good to touch different branches in life, and Recruit Action helped me find a job that allows me to do so,” says Sophie.
