Partner Perspective.

Our first blog of 2022 focuses on an intimate Question & Answer session with Recruit Action Partner Kristyn Oleskewycz. We invite you to read what Kristyn has learned from the triumphs and challenges of 2021 and how Recruit Action is looking forward to the New Year.

The last few years have been full of uncertainty and unpredictability. So what was your biggest takeaway from 2021?

Kristyn:

My biggest takeaway from 2021 was making mental health a priority. It is crucial to have a support system and make time for self-care. Staying healthy and exercising is a vital part of mental health. I was so happy we kept up with our team workouts at Recruit Action – that lifted the team’s morale when we were able to do an activity together even if we were at a distance.

Recruit Action underwent changes and growth in 2021. What do you feel is Recruit Action’s most significant accomplishment this past year?

Kristyn:

Our most significant accomplishment was our teamwork and our ability to keep moving forward despite the uncertainty. We stayed on target, and we still yielded great numbers and results. I am also grateful that we are an industry that is still very highly sought after. So many sectors were hurt and are still trying to get back to pre-pandemic productivity levels. We didn’t experience that as much as others, and I think we can say that we are fortunate.

Recruit Action focuses on a self-managed method of organization. What is a self-managed approach, and why is it essential to your company?

Kristyn:

A self-managed approach is a very entrepreneurial approach. No one is watching over your shoulder or micromanaging you. Instead, you manage your own time appropriately to make sure that you meet targets. There is a strong understanding of who you are, where your strengths lie, and where you can improve. I believe our team is successful because we are work workers. We want to be better than yesterday as a persona and in our careers.

Relationships are a vital characteristic of Recruit Action’s company culture. Please explain why Recruit Action values building and fostering strong relationships with its team, candidates, and the companies.

Kristyn:

Recruit Action thrives on one essential factor: the people. The candidates, the team, our clients – relationships are what truly matter to us. So whether it’s our team, candidates, or clients – everyone is treated as an essential part of our success.

What are three ways Recruit Action cultivates healthy relationships within its team and clients?

Kristyn:

We encourage open and honest communication – we want feedback. We want our team to communicate any challenges. We want to do better, and we cannot do that without that open and honest communication that we encourage with our clients and our team.

We make mental health a priority. We need to maintain our team spirit even if we don’t see each other every day. So we find creative ways to make personal connections despite the obstacles.

We make sure we provide valuable market information to our clients. We listen to their needs, modify our approach when necessary, and continuously cultivate healthy relationships.

You recently launched a new logo, website, and newsletter. What do you feel was the main reason for the changes, and what do you want your clients to know about the new look and publication?

Kristyn:

We want our clients and candidates to know that we are constantly evolving. We made these changes because we want our website to be inviting, user-friendly, and valuable to our clients.

Companies and individuals often set new goals or resolutions before the start of the New Year. So what goals have Recruit Action set for 2022?

Kristyn:

Our goal for 2022 is to be better than 2021. We are concentrating on evolving with technology to be more efficient and available to meet our clients’ needs. We are also developing and expanding our service offering to international clients.

What do you believe are the biggest challenges that your company faces in 2022?

Kristyn:

The market is not the same as it was pre-pandemic. As a result, it is more difficult to find candidates for our clients in this climate. If necessary, we need to pivot our strategy to meet our goals in the coming year.

The recruiting climate has undergone many changes that have impacted both companies and candidates over the past three years. So what advice do you have for candidates seeking a job and company’s searching for employees in the New Year?

Kristyn:

Today’s market favors candidates. My advice to candidates is to spend the time to look for what career opportunity fits best for you. Research and dig deep. Many great companies would want you as part of their team!

It’s a challenging market for companies seeking candidates, so we need to be open to changing strategies and being creative with our search. Of course, great candidates will always be out there, but we need to adapt because the market is not what it once was.
