Recruit Action was founded in 2009 by former partner Fran\u00e7ois Paiement, who wanted to find a balance between his professional and personal life so he could become a better father. Two years later, Domenic joined the firm as a partner to enjoy the same stability within his own family. After working for several years at other firms, the partners realized the importance of achieving a certain balance. Domenic says, \u201cA person won\u2019t work well if they don\u2019t feel well, so we make balance and well-being a priority in everything we do.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
For the past thirteen years, Recruit Action has remained focused on creating balance in candidates\u2019 lives. During Kristyn\u2019s six years at Recruit Action, before becoming a partner, she learned how essential personal and professional harmony was in her life. She notes that she\u2019s not alone in valuing this crucial balance. \u201cNow more than ever, candidates are looking for jobs that offer the same work-life balance that Fran\u00e7ois founded Recruit Action on,\u201d says Kristyn. This shift in values \u200b\u200bhas transformed employment culture into a candidate\u2019s market, giving job seekers greater bargaining power. \u201cToday, a candidate looking for a job has more opportunities to consider different positions to ensure they\u2019re a real fit, and it\u2019s essential that recruiters listen and understand what they\u2019re looking for,\u201d says Kristyn. The partners believe that listening is essential to finding the right fit. \u201cWhen you actively listen to someone, you\u2019ll be able to understand them well, making it easier to place them in a long-term position and create a lasting, mutually beneficial relationship with the company,\u201d says Domenic. <\/p>\n\n
When they embarked on their respective careers, Domenic and Kristyn didn\u2019t seek balanced employment, nor did they intend to go into the recruitment industry. Kristyn says, \u201cWhen I entered the workforce, finding a job I truly loved or that gave me meaning wasn\u2019t a priority for me. However, today, priorities have changed for employees.\u201d The two partners at Recruit Action quickly appreciated the fact that they could help candidates find the same happiness in work that they themselves had found. Domenic believes that adopting an individual-centered methodology has helped make all the difference. \u201cWhen you focus on creating a genuine connection with the person first, you discover what motivates them, even before thinking about the right company for them,\u201d explains Domenic. Personally, he has realized that what motivates him is helping his employees and potential candidates take the next step in their lives. He says, \u201cHearing an employee tell me how excited they are to buy their first home, or a candidate say they finally found a job they love, makes me feel like I\u2019ve played a significant role in helping them realize a dream and build a better life.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
Domenic and Kristyn believe their human-centered approach to recruiting is unique in the industry, and they\u2019re excited to expand Recruit Action\u2019s reach in 2023. One of the big steps in that expansion is launching Recruit Action International and expanding their service offerings to the United States. This is a huge leap forward for Recruit Action. Yet, Kristyn and Domenic know they\u2019re ready for this evolution and that collaborators like Claude Dionne and Tansley will support them throughout the process. \u201cI\u2019m excited to learn how to do business outside of Canada and work with our trusted collaborators to overcome any challenges we may face,\u201d says Domenic. The partners have thought long and hard about their expansion. Domenic says, \u201cI\u2019m doing my best to make prudent decisions with a long-term vision.\u201d I would never want to rush our team into a situation we are not prepared for.\u201d This planned and thoughtful approach has allowed Recruit Action to improve with each change it has faced over the years. Kristyn is aware that this major change is taking place during a time of economic uncertainty. Yet, she says, \u201cwe are focusing on what we do best to succeed, and I am confident that our team and our people will make this transition a success.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
Recruit Action manages the company’s decisions as it does its candidates, with a long-term vision in mind. “Our clients offer incredible opportunities for long-term success.
