Darlah Dorval appreciates that no two workdays are the same at Recruit Action. Darlah is the Human Resources and Social Media Coordinator for Recruit Action, and she enjoys the wide range of activities her job entails. Her responsibilities include onboarding new employees, validating candidates’ professional files, and managing the company’s online presence. “I appreciate the diversity of my responsibilities. I also like being able to share my ideas and initiate new projects independently,” says Darlah.
Her interest in human resources began with a college diploma in international hotel management from the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec. Intrigued by logistics and professional development, Darlah continued her studies by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Darlah wanted to work for a recruitment agency, and when she discovered Recruit Action, its open-mindedness and unique business philosophy appealed to her. Upon starting the role, Darlah was drawn to Recruit Action’s flexible approach to working methods, which fosters open and transparent communication within the team. “Recruit Action stands out for its diversity and commitment to inclusion. It is committed to embracing change rather than resisting it,” explains Darlah.
Working at Recruit Action, Darlah feels valued and motivated to contribute to the company’s overall success, as it supports her both at work and in her personal life. “Recruit Action’s culture is based on collaboration. We have excellent team cohesion, in addition to a positive work environment. Employees are there for each other every step of the way, whether in the office or outside,” says Darlah.
Darlah is particularly grateful for the way Recruit Action encourages employees’ personal development with the help of a certified coach. With the support of a skilled coach, Darlah improves her understanding of her career path and observes the positive impact coaching has on a team’s collective development. Additional measures like these make Recruit Action truly unique in Darlah’s eyes: “Recruit Action is not your average company. It stands out from the rest, which is reflected in its fun-for-work philosophy and the value it places on work-life balance. I like the playful approach to daily routine. This encourages me to continually look for ways to bring joy and fun to my work while fostering innovation.”
Looking ahead, Darlah hopes to share the company’s conscientious and inspiring vision with others. “I want to become an inspiring leader at Recruit Action, drawing inspiration from the charisma of Domenic Calcara and Kristyn Oleskewycz to excel in my work and shape my professional future.”
