Readers of this article may remember our partner profile from last June with Annie Trudel, which discussed her career at Ria Money Transfer and her partnership with Recruit Action. Six months later, we’re back with another profile featuring Annie Trudel, who is now part of the Recruit Action team!
Annie joined the team in September as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and has since been exploring the world of recruitment, bringing her over 20 years of experience in customer service to the company. Annie was introduced to Recruit Action through our partner Domenic in 2018 when they met at the gym. Annie and Domenic realized they sponsored sports activities for their respective companies and connected over their shared passions. “I thought it was a good idea to learn more about their company. Domenic and I have since become great friends and business partners,” Annie explained.
At the time, Annie was managing human resources and operations at RIA Money Transfer, wearing many hats to oversee the company’s human relations. Recruit Action helped fill candidate positions for Ria Money Transfer. As a client, Annie appreciated Recruit Action’s proactive approach to recruiting. “They were always professional, listening to our needs to ensure we found a candidate who was exactly what we were looking for,” says Annie.
The same values Annie respected as a client inspired her desire to work at Recruit Action. Annie says, “It was a difficult decision to leave a company I had worked with for over twenty years. As a client, I was inspired by how the Recruit Action team supported one another. It was these genuine relationships that won me over. I wanted to work for a company where the human element is present every day.” Annie appreciates Recruit Action’s emphasis on teamwork and diversity. “Within the team, there are a myriad of different backgrounds, but you feel valued and part of a network that listens. It’s a truly stimulating work environment. It makes you want to perform better, meet expectations, and even exceed them,” says Annie.
As a talent acquisition specialist, Annie enjoys interacting with candidates and building genuine human connections. “To find the best candidates and keep them with you from interview to offer, it’s important to build relationships based on trust and open communication. We help them every step of the way and maintain the relationship even after the candidate is hired,” says Annie. She enjoys the challenges of this new line of work and the opportunity to learn recruiting skills from her colleagues. “Kristyn and Domenic bring their experiences to the table in a real-world way. All my colleagues have their own approach and expertise; it’s rewarding to gain knowledge from each person to enhance my understanding of the recruiting process,” says Annie.
Recruit Action also benefits from the wealth of expertise Annie brings to the team. In addition to her understanding of the financial sector and her technical knowledge, Annie brings the perspective of a former client and manager. “Having been on the other side of our work as a client, I can put myself in the shoes of a manager or business owner and filter the ideal candidates for them,” says Annie. Her strength as a recruiter also lies in her ability to develop authentic partnerships with clients. “In my previous role, I developed the ability to put people at ease when they approach me. The recruitment world can sometimes be fast-paced, which is why it’s essential to build partnerships based on trust to best support the candidate in their efforts,” says Annie.
Annie is excited to be part of a company she can help build and evolve. “There are many new projects we can take on and clients we can build strong relationships with. Recruit Action’s leadership has an incredible ability to learn from the entire team and listen to every employee in the company.” For Annie, the core value that underpins Recruit Action’s propensity to evolve is, first and foremost, the human element that guides all of its work. “Many companies post their values in big letters on a wall, but they’re just words. At Recruit Action, you’re more than just an employee.” They want employees to have a work-life balance, to thrive in all aspects of their lives; that’s Recruit Action’s greatest strength,” says Annie.
In 2024, Annie plans to grow with Recruit Action and support new projects. “Recruit Action has major initiatives coming up in the new year, such as our expansion into the US market. The team has been working hard to enhance our services, and I look forward to helping Recruit Action grow even further, with the goal of achieving its goals,” Annie tells us.
